Anahid Nalbandian is one of our longest-tenured staff members at AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School, serving our students and community for over 35 years. She began her AGBU MDS career as a Mathematics and Science teacher in 1982. As the school grew and added grades, she became a senior advisor and also served as Mathematics Department Chair. In 2010, she became the Vice Principal of the Demirdjian Middle and High School.
Upon becoming Vice Principal she immediately began working towards modernizing the practices of our high school to stay up to par with and surpass other college preparatory institutions. As such, she introduced block scheduling, supported the founding of our popular dance department, expanded the AP program, introduced the Focus Groups, and established the 11th-grade internship in Armenia program, among other changes and improvements.
Ms. Nalbandian believes that every child entrusted to our care is a unique individual with unique learning needs. Therefore, our programs are centered around each student's learning style and speed. She also believes that one should never stop educating themselves. Therefore, she and her faculty are always participating in workshops and development courses to ensure that they are aware of the newest trends and developments in education.
Ms. Nalbandian received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Tehran University. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Planning from UCLA, a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from CSUN, as well as an Administrative Credential. She is the proud parent of two AGBU MDS Alumni and proud grandparent of two current AGBU MDS students.
