Athletics are a key component of the student experience at AGBU MDS.
Our Athletics program utilizes physical education and after school sports to teach positive, healthy habits in exercise, teamwork and the development of leadership skills. We encourage our students to experience the challenges and joys of athletic competition as a learning experience and seek to promote an environment that emphasizes integrity, sportsmanship, and respect. It is our goal to instil dedication, determination, discipline and drive into all of our student athletes with the belief that these attributes will contribute not only to their athletic success but to their success in life.

Student Athletes (High School)
Play Hard, Play Fair, Play Safe, Have Fun! These terms encompass our philosophy at the elementary level, where we strive to guide our students into developing healthy habits in exercise, and sportsmanship.
As part of their curriculum students in grades K-5 have Physical Education classes twice a week. Additionally, K-5 students compete in the Armenian schools’ league, KAHAM. Our after school athletics program is available to 4th-5th grade students. Players practice together and compete in the San Fernando Valley Private School League.
At the middle school level, the Athletics Department looks to create an environment where students can explore their interests, develop their skills, display sportsmanship and most importantly, have fun!
In addition to physical education classes throughout the week, all students can try out for and participate in after-school sports teams that compete in two distinct leagues: the San Fernando Valley Private School League and an Armenian schools' league called KAHAM which unites Armenian schools in Southern California to strengthen community ties through athletic competition.
With a rich history of division championships and banners, the Titan spirit of competition and sportsmanship is at its peak at our high school level. Our student athletes work towards honing their skills, playing with strategy, strengthening team ties, and being leaders on and off the court.
With the guidance and support of an experienced coaching staff, players develop discipline, resilience, and a winning attitude in 10 different sports. As a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), Southern Section, AGBU MDS competes in the Liberty/Independence League.
