AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School Acquires New Property to Meet Strategic Expansion Goals
Canoga Park, CA – August 13, 2025 – The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) and the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School (AGBU MDS) are proud to announce a significant milestone: the purchase of a commercial property located directly across the street from the AGBU MDS campus. As AGBU MDS enters its 50th anniversary school year, this strategic acquisition marks a significant step in its long-term vision for growth, excellence, and providing state-of-the-art learning environments for its Preschool to 12th-grade programs.
For years, AGBU MDS has maintained one of the strongest reputations in the community, resulting in a consistently high demand for enrollment. With a growing waiting list and potential students turned away each year due to space limitations, the need for expansion has become more urgent than ever.
“This new property allows us to dream bigger,” said David Ghoogasian, Head of School of AGBU MDS. “We are deeply committed to offering a high-quality, Armenian-American education to as many students as possible, and this expansion brings that goal within reach.”
The purchase of the new property will provide the long-term potential to accommodate more students and programs, further enhancing the vibrant academic and extracurricular life for which AGBU MDS is known. With the completed acquisition, plans for redevelopment are just beginning now, and more details will be shared as they become available.
“As we celebrate 50 years of educational excellence,” said Kevork Zoryan, Chair of the AGBU Western Region, “this expansion stands as a symbol of our continued growth, resilience, and commitment to the future of our students and our community.”
